Get a Library Card

There’s so much you can do with your library card, from getting free computer tutoring to learning a new language! Library cards are free for all residents of the County of Lennox & Addington. Non-residents are subject to a $5 annual fee. All library users must abide by our Code of Conduct.

Flexible

Use your card at all of L&A’s Libraries. Check out items at any branch and return them to any branch. Outside book drops are available during closed hours.

Enjoy unlimited

Unlimited checkouts. Most items can be checked out for 3 weeks. High demand items for 2 weeks. DVDs for 1 week. No overdue fines on standard materials.

We’re connected

Request items online from any library and have them delivered to your nearest library branch. We’ll even bring in materials we don’t own from elsewhere in the province!

Access online services, databases for research and recreation, e-books and audiobooks, 24/7.

In-Library Registration

Getting a L&A library card is free for all County of Lennox & Addington residents. Non-residents may obtain a library card for a yearly fee of $5 ($10 is charged biennially). Visit any branch and present valid ID/proof of address to get your card. Here is the registration form should you wish to complete it in advance of your visit.

Card Renewal/Replacement

You will be asked to confirm your contact information every two years so we can renew your library privilege. Always let us know if you have moved or changed phone numbers. If you lose your card, contact us as soon as possible as you will be held responsible for any items checked out to your card. You can replace a lost card for a $2 fee.

Loan Periods/Renewals

Most material from the library’s circulating collection may be borrowed for three weeks. High demand items may be borrowed for two weeks and DVDs for one week. Materials can be renewed by phone, in branch, or on the internet via our website. Materials must be renewed on or before the due date. Materials that have been reserved by another patron may not be renewed.

Step 1
Fill out our online library card registration form.
Step 2

Within ten minutes you will be emailed a temporary library card number that you can use to try out our online services and download our digital materials for up to one month. If you do not receive an email with your library card number, please check your spam folders. Still no luck? Contact Library Services.

Step 3

At any point you can visit a library branch to collect your permanent library card. To avoid service interruptions, we recommend that you complete the registration process before your one month expiry date. If you need more time, just let us know. Please be sure to bring valid ID/proof of address. Library cards are free for residents of Lennox & Addington. Non-residents are subject to a $5 annual fee.
