The Warriors by Erin Hunter is an ever popular books series. The first book Into the Wild was published in 2003 and new books are continually being released. For avid readers of this collection, this is great news!
While I have not read any of the books my son is a fan and loves to share many, many details. Below I have interviewed him:
Why do you enjoy the Warriors books?
Because each book has a really great plot and focuses on a different character, their clans, and the settings.
What is the setting of the books?
There are six setting in the first series – forest, river, wind, shadow and four trees. These setting are also the names of the clans that live in them.
Who is your favourite character?
Raven Paw because he nice, shy, and nervous. He is also scared of his mentor which adds more mystery. His character makes you really want to keep reading.
Would this series make a cool movie?
YES! I wonder what the characters would look like. I would like to see it in a live action format but I don’t know if that would be possible.
Did you know that Erin Hunter is a pseudonym used by a group of authors to write these books?
“No!” with a chuckle. “Really?!”
Do you have any other book suggestions?
Insignificant Events in the Life of a Cactus and Momentous Events in the Life of a Cactus. I read them last summer and they are still two of my favourite books.
If you are looking for a series recommended by a grade 5 student, that seems to stand the test of time, give the Warriors books a try! If you’ve already read them all, consider authors Tui T Sutherland, Rick Riordan, Brandon Mull or Chris Colfer.
