I love books that are beachy, cozy, have a little drama, some romance, have a quick pace, and a happy ending. Recently I’ve enjoyed three books that not only check all of these boxed but they have summer in the title as well!
In The Summer Getaway by Susan Mallery, Robyn is at an impasse. Her divorce settlement is set to run out, her daughter is turning into a bridezilla, her son refuses to consider college, and her aging aunt wants her to come home. Struggling to decide how to move forward Robyn heads to her aunts for some respite, to make a plan, and enjoy a summer near the beach in Santa Barbara.
A Summer Love Affair by Holly Chamberlain is set to be released in late June just in time for summer. Petra Quirk finds and old diary in her parent’s attic. This discovery prompts her mother to share a secret. The secret is that long ago she had an affair with her husband’s best friend and he is Petra’s father. A quick read about discovery, forgiveness, and relationships.
Summer at the Cape by RaeAnne Thayne portrays a grieving family. Following the loss of twin sister Lily, the family comes together to bring to fruition Lily’s dream – a glampground in Cape Sanctuary. Told from the perspectives of Cami, Jon, and Violet, the book covers lots of ground – grief, dementia and heartbreak. It also has romance, family drama, and a happy ending.
If you are eagerly awaiting beach season, why not escape into one of these summer titles?
