Our Frozen Planet is a fascinating nonfiction picture book for young readers by Leisa Stewart-Sharpe and a companion to the BBC Earth Frozen Planet series. The book explores the frozen quarter of Earth, revealing the wonder and beauty of this icy kingdom. Readers are introduced to the amazing animals that survive the bitter cold, towering icebergs, and frozen seas.

The journey includes meeting incredible creatures like seal pups swimming under the ice, a 250-year-old Greenland shark, and a “snoozing windy walrus.” It highlights dramatic moments in the wild, such as orcas sneaking up on whales and wolves playing a deadly game of hide-and-seek in a frozen forest. The book aims to educate and inspire young readers with true stories about life in our planet’s spectacular frozen wildernesses
