Look in the Mirror by Catherine Steadman is a fast-paced psychological thriller/locked room mystery with a tinge of horror element.

When Nina Hepworth inherits a mansion on an island from her recently deceased father she is beyond surprised. As close as they were she knew nothing about this tropical paradise. She is contacted by a lawyer who informs her that she must travel to the island to take procession of her inheritance.

While exploring the mansion she discovers a mysterious room in the basement and soon finds herself in a cat and mouse escape room game where the stakes are literally life or death high.

In an alternate storyline at an undisclosed time, Marla has been hired to nanny for a wealthy family on the same island. It also appears to be at this same house. When the family doesn’t show Marla is told she can relax and enjoy the many amenities the house has to offer. Marla soon becomes bored and she too decides to explore the one area she was told not to enter…a room in the basement.

Full of suspense and plot twists, this edge of your seat drama is an entertaining, thrilling read.
