Get ready to race through the pages of Lisa Unger’s new holiday novella, Christmas Presents, at reindeer speed toward a truly dark and terrifying final act! This tale starts six days before Christmas, as 22-year-old pole dancer Lolly Morris meets up with a handsome stranger after her shift for food and drinks. Meanwhile, Madeline Martin is finishing up a busy day working in her bookshop when she gets a surprise visitor. A failed novelist turned true crime podcaster named Harley Granger drifts into her shop unannounced, and seems intent on digging up events from Madeline‘s past that she would rather leave buried. She is the only surviving victim of Evan Handy, the man who was convicted of murdering her best friend Steph, and is suspected to be involved in the disappearance of two other girls, who are also good friends of Madeline’s.

The horror does not stop there however, as additional women in the area have gone missing over the years since Handy’s conviction – the latest being Lolly. Lisa Unger expertly creates a holiday themed suspense novel that will keep you guessing and reading long into the night. The author nimbly moves between compelling scenes from the past and present-day, which allows readers to gradually piece together the hidden layers beneath all that glitters and shines in the lives of these characters. If you are looking for a non-cozy Christmas read this year, then check out this sinister new book, and be sure to read it before Santa Claus comes down your chimney and pays you a visit this year – but watch out and make sure it’s the Santa you think it is!
